SMITH MOUNTAIN LAKE STATE PARK CAMPGROUND, VIRGINIA: GPS 37.0497° N, 79.6394° W
This campground is easy to access and the back-ins are also relatively easy. There are a few pull-throughs that are really nice. When you reserve a site, it is "non-designated" which means you are guaranteed the type of site you have requested, and then when you arrive you drive around and pick from the remaining available sites. You must specify whether you are reserving a back-in or a pull-through -- you can't switch when you arrive.
The bathroom is nice. The showers are free and nice. There is only one restroom but it is in the center and close for everyone.
There are a bunch of really great hikes right off the campground. You can access the beach with a 2 mile walk. The beach was closed when we were there but it was beautiful.
We had 27 TV channels! Never seen that before.
Our Verizon and AT&T worked great.
