Wow! I expected the University of Notre Dame to be pretty, but it was by far the most beautiful campus I've ever been on. The buildings' architecture was consistent and very beautiful in it's "old" look. There was lots of grass and trees.
What surprised me was the neighboring town of South Bend... it was very impoverished and run down. I couldn't figure out where the college kids would go to hang out or party. It just didn't seem to have that area in the town. Perhaps it was within the perimeter of the campus and I just didn't see it.
My father almost went to school here... he went to West Point instead. I liked imagining him there... although he fit in just fine at West Point. :)
