Antelope island which is in the middle of Salt Lake in Salt Lake City, UT was a real surprise! The beauty of the island was something we weren't expecting... and the history and wildlife were fascinating.
The island boasts some of the very oldest (pre-fossils) and very newest rock formations on the planet. There are 600 or so bison roaming wild. There are antelopes and deer. Millions upon millions of birds and some species you can only see here.
We decided to stay an extra night because it was so peaceful and wild. The campground was private and laid out wonderfully... there were concrete patios with inlaid fire pits and cabanas. Most of the sites were large pull throughs making it easy to navigate. The visitors center is a must-visit when on the island.
Selecting which pictures to upload was really hard!
