We had an uneventful drive (thank goodness) from Plymouth, WA to Mount Hood, OR. Got to the campground at about 1pm, which seems to be a good time to check in as most people were checking out about noon and newcomers didn't come til about 2pm. We needed to tire out Diabla Blanca (aka Avery) so we googled nearby swimming holes and discovered one at Viento State Park. What a cool spot! It was windy, but the only people at the swimming hole were kite surfers, and not even many of them. Avery had a blast splashing in the water. We FINALLY had cooler weather. After the 100 degree temperatures it was a welcome reprieve.
