GRAND ISLE STATE PARK CAMPGROUND, NEAR BURLINGTON, VERMONT: GPS 44.6864° N, 73.2944° W

There are a lot of things I love about this campground. It is fairly small, with sites big enough for big rigs or private lean to sites right above the lake. Our site was 81 which is a really cool site. It would be a little trickier to back a trailer into it during the busy season, but we were able to use site 82 to make parking easier.

The bathrooms were fairly nice, as were the cheap paid showers.

The best part for us is that they have a DOG BEACH. Yippee! That's always a plus for us. It's a nice part of the beach down near the boat ramp. The water is clear and the shoreline is rocky not grassy, which I am happy about. The first day we were there (in the middle of October), it was 77 degrees, so we went swimming with Avery. Very fun.

If I was tent camping, I'd opt for one of the waterfront lean to sites.

There is a small playground for kids.

There are some cabins to rent as well that look nice from the outside.

Our Verizon was strong enough to stream. We also had TV stations, which is rare for us. AT&T was good. T-Mobile was inadequate.
