ELMORE STATE PARK CAMPGROUND, VERMONT: GPS 44.53556, -72.54083
I love that this is a small campground with spacious sites. It has RV sites big enough for big rigs, but also tent sites, cabins, and lean tos. The lean tos are really cool.
The bathrooms are nice. The pay showers are cheap and adequate but nothing special. The one I used accumulated wter on the floor, which I never like. Otherwise, though, it was fine.
There are nice hikes, one of the most well known being The Fire Tower hike.
It has good proximity to many cool town, including Stowe and Montpelier.
We had site 15 - which was a disability site. I believe we got it because no other sites were available. It was a great site, large, easy to park in and right by bathrooms.
There was a lake but no dogs are allowed on the beach. This is the main reason I marked it down. If dogs had been allowed, I would give this campground a 4.5 or 4.75.
Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile were all poor. In fact, we had no cellular at all until we got about 10 minutes away from the campground.
